Adding Husky-BW/Husky-Color Printers to a Windows Off-domain Computer

Michigan Tech IT has created a PowerShell script that will automatically install Husky-BW/Husky-Color drivers.

Please note: Make sure you have the latest PowerShell version installed in order for the script to run properly. You can find instructions on Microsoft's site: Installing Windows PowerShell.

Instructions for downloading and installing the script

  1. Upgrade to or check to see that you have the latest PowerShell version in order for the script to run properly. You can find instructions on Microsoft's site: Installing Windows PowerShell.
  2. Download the print setup script. Once the download is complete:
    • Navigate to your Downloads folder.
    • Select the folder icon on your taskbar.
    • Select Downloads on the left sidebar.
    • Right-click with your mouse or select the ZIP file. Select Extract All from the menu.
  3. If you have problems extracting and running the program from the Downloads folder, you will want to create a folder on the C:\drive and name it "Temp". Once C:\Temp has been created, you will move your file to C:\Temp, right-click on the ZIP file and select Extract All.
    Extract Zipped File
  4. Select Extract in the Windows Extraction Tool.
    select destination for extracted files
  5. The files that are extracted will appear in a content window. From the extracted files, open Setup.exe
double click setup file to run
  6. The PowerShell script will run, and a pop-up status window will appear with installation status updates. Please do not quit the process or shut off your computer; when the installation is complete, an HTML file will appear with a list of everything the script has completed. The printers are now installed and ready to use.
  7. At the end of the installation, you will see a question asking you about the start up of the PaperCut client.  We recommend that you have it launch on computer start up, but you can choose to launch it manually if you wish.
choose to auto or manually run paper cut
