Submitting a Ticket for IT Help

In addition to getting IT help by phone (dial 7-1111), by email (send your request to it-help@mtu.edu), or by stopping by the Library and IT Service Desk, you can also submit a ticket through the ServiceDesk Plus portal.

How to submit a ticket

Michigan Tech IT uses the ServiceDesk Plus software to record and process all your IT support requests.  You can directly enter a ticket into ServiceDesk Plus. (Requires you to login with your Michigan Tech ID).  After you log in, here's how you'd submit your request:

  1. Click on the drop-down arrow next to Request Catalog in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

  2. Choose the category from the list that best represents your issue, or simply choose "New Issue" from the bottom of the list.
  3. Fill out the form (red asterisks next to a field mean that field is required)

  4. When you've filled out the form, click the Add request button at the bottom to complete your request and send it to IT.
