Connect to a Campus Windows Computer

Remote Server (remote.mtu.edu)

Michigan Tech IT has a remote Windows general use terminal server available that hosts a limited number of applications. It provides access to campus computing resources when you are away from campus. Due to technical and licensing limitations, only certain software is available for use on remote.mtu.edu.

Connecting to a Remote Server from a Windows Computer

  1. Establish a VPN connection.
  2. Open the Remote Desktop Connection application.

  3. Enter the host name of the computer, then select Connect.

  4. Enter your Michigan Tech username and password in the following format: mtu\username, then select OK.
