New Employee and New Student Employee Account Creation

Accounts for New Employees

  • Regular employees - Accounts for employees who are hired through the standard hiring process or a posting waiver are provided with their M# and userid/email on their first day of work, during New Husky Orientation. Human Resources provides the supervisor with the M# and userid to begin the access process. 

 

  • Temporary employees - Accounts for temporary employees are created once they successfully complete the hiring paperwork and background check. Human Resources informs the supervisor of the M# and userid/email to begin the access process. 

 

  • Visitor ID and Email request form - The visitor ID/Email process is in collaboration between Human Resouces and the Van Pelt and Opie Library.  The Visitor and Email Request Form can be found on the Human Resource's website.

 

Accounts for New Student Employees

New student employees are added to payroll when an EPAF (Employee Personal Action Form) is submitted and approved.  All departmental drive, Banner, door, key access is provided using the processes listed below.

Types of Access

  • Banner access - if the new employee will use Banner in their daily work, access to Banner is required through standard HR forms
     
  • WebFocus access - if the new employee will use WebFocus in their daily work, access to Banner is required through standard HR forms
     
  • Perceptive Content access - if the new employee will use Perceptive Content in their daily work, access to Perceptive Content is required through standard HR forms
     
  • Admin domain access (computer login) - The supervisor contacts Michigan Tech IT, by emailing it-help@mtu.edu, to provide admin domain access for the new employee.
     
  • Multi-drive access - The supervisor contacts Michigan Tech IT, by emailing it-help@mtu.edu, to provide drive access for the new employee.
     
  • Door access - The supervisor contacts Michigan Tech IT, by emailing it-help@mtu.edu, to provide door access to the new employee.
     
  • Keywatcher access -The supervisor contacts Michigan Tech IT, by emailing it-help@mtu.edu to provide access to the keywatcher system.
     
  • Keys - Public Safety and Police Services administer physical keys for buildings and offices. To request a key, the designated departmental key coordinator visits the PSPS website and completes the form.
     
  • Printer/copier access (name added to a departmental printer) -  The supervisor contacts Michigan Tech IT, by emailng it-help@mtu.edu, to add the new employee to a specific printer/copier
